Legionella prevention for Hospitals
Legionella prevention is always a topical issue for hospitals. Hospitals are busy 24/7 delivering the best care for patients. The aim here is constantly to create a pleasant and safe environment for patients and staff members. An important part of this is of course Legionella prevention.
Hospitals fall under the priority locations according to Legionella legislation. This means that they must comply with the strictest laws and regulations and be subject to stricter supervision.
Good Legionella management often consists of various measures. Examples of legal measures are the preparation of a risk analysis and management plan and the taking of Legionella water samples. On average 25% of the water samples have exceeded Dutch standards, according to Cor van der Wal of Aquador (TVVL congress 2017).
By applying ultrafiltration filter modules or gatekeeper in the hospital you can be sure that Legionella-safe water is supplied to your patients and colleagues. High-risk tap points, due to water misting such as a shower, are supplied with bacteria-safe water through the ultrafiltration unit. According to the law, ultrafiltration (physical management) is equated with thermal management and may be used everywhere for Legionella prevention. The certainty that you get by applying a Legionella filter ensures that you can let your patients and colleagues use the drinking water with confidence.
If you want certainty and a proper implementation of Legionella prevention in healthcare, we will gladly help you further. In addition, ultrafiltration is a sustainable, responsible and highly effective way to remove bacteria, viruses, particles and microplastics from your drinking water.
