What are the similarities between Legionella and Corona?

The Legionella bacterium and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) are both spread by aerosols. These are droplets that are partly invisible in the air. When these droplets settle in your body via the airways, you can become very ill or even die. 

Symptoms of a Legionnaires’ disease and a coronavirus are very similar, which is why it is always advisable to have them tested by the local authorities in case of symptoms so that the correct diagnosis can be made in time.

Some symptoms that can occur in both cases:

• Influenza-like symptoms
• Pneumonia
• Fever
• Fatigue
• Shortness of breath
